Setting up the classroom 2018

This is my first time to have a classroom on my own as a primary school teacher. Although I have had teaching experiences as an early childhood teacher for over 10 years, I have always worked within a team so I am nervous, but quite excited to have a classroom!

Arriving back from Japan the previous night, I felt really tired but was very excited and motivated to set up a classroom. Because we moved from the previous room, I had a lot of boxes and furniture in the room as I came back to the classroom.

I think I under-estimated how hard the setting up the classroom would be, but at a time it was quite a overwhelming process. I just felt like moving things back and forward, but as I repeated this, things started to settle and I was able to work around each furniture. It took some days to complete, and I felt quite proud of myself thinking back to what it was to where I am now.

                                         Different loose parts on offer

I do hope that children will enjoy the classroom, it is exciting to see how they will play and move around in the classroom. I will also be changing the environment to meet the needs of the children/space issues.
